This installation brings together three new audio/visual works by Laurence Campbell and invites the observer to experience a singular connective journey built through non-representational documentation.

Film still with several images of bees and a human hand on a black background

In the Wake of Tomorrow (2023)
A chaotic digital triptych immersed in repetition, processed details of perception and patterns of light. Overlapping sound and luminescent windows guide the observer through a series of associated reflections combining connective themes, layers and processes.

Seaglass (2023)
Fading details of a seaside town (Hastings) form fragments of memory that slowly dissolve against the endless repetition of salt air and blue-green sea. Whilst images document the detail of lost moments, a local voice takes focus on his personal experience of the coast, building a portrait of place and commenting on the duality of time.

Film still of a country landscape with power station and pylons

The Constant Sound of Machines (2022)
A meditation on themes of time, generational changes through environmental decline, dementia, and how we process memory through sound. The film experiments with ideas of place and journey, either literal or psychological, which are integral to the understanding of certain human conditions.
